Great Story, Talented Actors, Unrealized Potential -- Seven Stars for the Story

Warning: Spoilers
This is a bit long but here goes... Enjoyed the concept and plot of the movie. The little girl and caseworker were easy to watch and believable. Many other characters were also natural in delivering their lines and contributing to the movie. Unfortunately, I had a hard time following the male lead character and was hoping to see more development of the supporting cast such as Tiny; the Nurse; Tulsa's mother; the Pastor; and many others. There was ample opportunity to develop all the parts, but each time the story began to develop, it was flattened again. Having watched many Christian movie flops and successes, the theme is consistent among the flops ... "we have to get the conversion story in here somehow...?" So, it gets jammed in unrealistically. The truth is, many people become a believer over time and over circumstances ... or lose their faith over time and circumstances. Each time we see a Christian movie that bypasses what most of us experience in real life, it's hard to watch. Any film trying to bind the reality of the Christian story and the work of God is not impossible, but takes very, very hard work and lots of prayer. Pryor had the opportunity, but like most of us we step in our own way. God bless.
