An interesting take on the body swapping concept
30 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Unlike many other body swapping shows that have come out over the years, this one comes with a twist: where the body swapping happens more than once. While I initially thought it was odd, I have come to love this interpretation. This allows the 'body swap' to become a point of contention in the show. Furthermore, it was just a joy to watch the couple as they go through thick and thin navigating life with all the issues that come with a celebrity romance and body swap weighing on them.

As a cheesy romance show, it also gave a really good moral of the story. Taking into account that most likely the target audience of this show is meant for hopeless romantics, it well, gives you hope. Showing that everyone would eventually find that guy or girl of their dreams and to hold on tightly when you find them. Also, that no one is perfect and that we are all multi faceted, to not judge, the horrors of keyboard warriors amongst others. It's a food for thought.

However, despite all this, there are some parts that I wish can be improved. For one, the ending felt very rushed. If they had fleshed out the ending, perhaps showing what happened to Tong Tong and Jia Shu (as a potential second couple?) or maybe a marriage scene between the main couple (which is just a missed opportunity for a lot of comedy). And the ending was akin to the 'and it was all a dream' ending that honestly ruins the story more than anything.

But still, despite its faults, its pretty decent and dare I say it was pretty good. So just give it a try if you haven't already.
