Surprisingly Almost Watchable
24 December 2021
This is one of the few, if only, terrible movies that somehow slightly redeems itself to be somewhat watchable. Even with its lousy special effects and questionable acting, the director somehow manages to make this spy parody never quite go over the top and falling into ludicrous and inane stupidity. While normally, it would be easy to rate this movie a 3 or 4, the modicum of the director to avoid ending up with an unwatchable, terrible movie is enough to give him a pass here. Unfortunately, the director should have tried taking more lessons from James Cameron in True Lies (1994) or Renny Harlin in The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) or the more recent renditions of secret identity from McG's This Means War (2012) or Paco Cabezas version in Mr. Right (2015).
