This is definitely vindication for 343. There is lots to do and it's the most open world Halo to date.
The story is gripping and going in a direction that will appease fans of the franchise. There are gonna be some fans out there that are gonna be like "it's not Bungie" I totally get that, it's not. This is however a shining example of how to build on a legacy of a franchise. They've taken what Bungie started all those years ago and made it their own. Kept what made it a class of its own. Let's not forget, some of those creators work for 343.
I can't say I've seen any broken mechanics and I don't feel any enemy is a bullet sponge. There is some challenge and it's not gonna be a cake walk. I think it's all for the better. I have to also applaud them for the craftiest AI in a game. One that kept me on my toes a bit and on more than one occasion flanked me, kept me busy and then descended on me with force and fury.
Give 343 a chance, give yourself a chance to enjoy it. Play it with fresh eyes like you'd never played a Halo game before. I could sit here and criticise the game but it should be applauded on its own merits. Job well done. I'm excited to see where the next story takes place.
