Strong episode with great lead performances and visuals
12 September 2021
Holmes takes on a number of cases from a mysterious caller, plus a request from his brother.

This is another strong episode with good mysteries, mostly great character moments, and excellent visuals.

The plot is fast paced, full of confusing details, and everything comes together quite cleverly at the end. Most scenes are laced with typically enjoyable dialogue from the lead characters.

Holmes is portrayed arrogant as ever from the very funny opening scene to the end. Benedict Cumberbatch brings non stop entertainment to the role.

Martin Freeman is as likeable and watchable as ever. His Watson would be the sidekick or best mate that everyone would want.

For me the jury is out on the version of Moriarty character depicted by Andrew Scott. His first impression on me is very young and a little annoying, but I like the twist associated with the character reveal.

I think the visuals are excellent, showcasing wonderfully composed cinematography, atmospheric lighting, artful editing and strong transitions.
