While it didn't answer all the mysteries the show brought up, I couldn't help but love this ending, as throughout this show my perspective changed from the mystery of the island to the characters who crashed upon it. The character moments in the end are superb, especially the last few minutes as Jack slowly dies with a smile on his face, and the cast of characters we have come to love move on to another life.
I also felt it was incredibly intense episode, as I knew some/one of the characters were going to die. The fight between fake Locke and Jack, which actually led to the lead character dying (A rarity in fight scenes), was especially intense.
All in all I feel this ending is overly hated. And deserves to be up there with endings like Dark, Breaking Bad and Mr. Robot. As Jack's journey comes to a fantastic close as the saviour of the island.
