Gopher Broke (1958)

This brief cartoon seems realistic and does not jump the shark . . .

Warning: Spoilers
. . . until its final minute, after the two thieving rodents have sent the watchdog on a hot air balloon ride and are finally free to loot the carrot barn. To accomplish this latter phase of their heist, the tiny miscreants use a massive pipeline to convey the stolen goods from the storage building to their underground hideout's hole. Viewers are left wondering WHEN this conduit was erected. Normally such a pipeline project would take several weeks for a couple dozen human-sized workers to achieve. However, this above-ground conveyance pops up instantaneously during the few seconds between two shots of the open barn door! The perplexing timing of this construction job begs the question of WHO exactly completed it. Gophers do NOT have oppose-able thumbs (moronic spell-checker problem), and even if they did, their digits would be far too small to budge--let alone position--the size of metal piping pictured here. It's almost as if GOPHER BROKE is going for laughs!
