Gun: All the President's Women (1997)
Season 1, Episode 4
10/10
The best film in the series. Rapp would go one to write for Altman again for a reason.

This is the best film in the series in large part because Rapp managed to turn in the best screenplay. Altman must have liked her work because he went on to make two more films with Rapp as screenwriter. (It is fairly obvious that the screenwriter of Dr. T & The Women wrote this). I guess the film can be read as (or was intended as) allegory about Bill Clinton-the central figure is an inept womanizer, came out in 90's, name-but watching it again in 2020 I don't see it as applying only to Clinton. I found "President Bill" to be vaguely Trumpian in his cluelessness and lying ways.

But in any case, this is a delightful piece. Despite being basically plotless it moves quite well. It is also rather funny. There's even a bit of wisdom here.
