This could have been a good movie but sinks rather than stay afloat. Some of it is OK with some nice circus acts and that great elephant some ok songs. But it suffers from being a little too long and a couple of strong scenes. One is on the Merry go round with Day and Boyd doing The Most Beautiful girl in the World. Here they are on the circus lot and not one person is in the background doing any kind of work or just walking around. Very strange and eerie. Looks like they're in a ghost town instead of a big circus area and ground. The worse is the surreal type ending that becomes a fantasy that doesn't work at all!! Forget the las 15 minutes. Doesn't make a bit of sense. JUMBO was a flop and I could see why. Too bad because Day is her usual top notch self giving her all. Too bad everything else fails her!!!
