'The Ipcress File (1965)' is a generally grounded affair, more focused on street-level detective work and international back-alley deals than massive shootouts and cat-stroking villains with plans of world domination. It's a plot-heavy affair and things do get quite complex quite quickly. Thankfully, the picture manages to keep you perplexed but not frustrated. It's typically rather interesting and it gets a lot more conventionally exciting as it moves into its unanticipated final third. It also has a fantastic musical score. It's an entertaining espionage thriller. 7/10
