Adi Mutluluk (2015)

Istanbul university drama involving a couple of kids from Ismir
8 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Fairly short for a Turkish series as there are only 17 episodes. The basic story is about a kid from Izmir, Bantu, who ends up running into a rich girl, Kumsal. Both want to leave Izmir and go to Istanbul for very different reasons. They spend one crazy night together, crash a wedding, sleep on the beach...etc. He helps her get the courage to just do it. Together the head to Istanbul. When they are almost there, these thugs who work for a gentleman/gangster that Bartu owes money to show up. In order to protect Kumsal, Bartu takes off in her car...leading to the misunderstanding that he stole her car and money. Bartu, ends up attending the same university as Kumsal because his uncle (secretly his father) works there as the drama instructor. There are friends and enemies and the usual university student high jinx. Money is always an issue for Bartu, who never has any and is trying to make a home for his mom in order to bring her to Istanbul to live with him. Kumsal is on a secret mission to find her long lost mother...that her rich father tried to keep her from. These two fell helplessly in love after that first night and through the series are always trying to find their way back to one another, no thanks to the interference of others. They do resolve the issue with the gangster and his daughter, but the series ends before they can resolve the issue with Kumsal's mother. This left the series feeling unfinished and left us on a bit of a sad note.

Sweet college drama...but their are far better Turkish series out there. Good cast, great acting.
