A dead young woman is found on the streets and everyone assumes her to be a prostitute. Dr. Watson (Ian Hart) is not so sure and recruits Sherlock Holmes (Rupert Everett). Sherlock had fallen into a rut and estranged from Watson. He immediately discovers that a silk stocking has been stuffed into the girl's throat and she's a high born daughter. Other girls are threatened with the same fate.
This is an original story. It's fine. Quite frankly, it has in common with modern serial killer police TV shows. It's a good place to start Sherlock. I like the actors. The story is fairly simple and compelling enough. The twist is fine although I don't love the ending. All in all, it's an interesting new take on these old characters.
