Whatcha watching there, a horror show?

Warning: Spoilers
Roger Garcia stars as James Fhelleps, a middle-class guy with a nagging wife (Tamera Noll) and a teenage daughter (Leigh Silver) upon whom he dotes. However, the beginning of the movie sees the daughter perish in a car accident, which also turns the wife into a scarred, wheelchair-bound victim who's not all there. To make matters worse, the man (Timothy Muskatell) hired as a caretaker for the wife is a creepy, degenerate predator. James, now utterly unhinged, goes out into the world with a straight razor to slaughter the dregs of society and to somehow get reunited with his beloved daughter.

It's not surprising Troma would get involved with this one, given that outrageousness and aggressive exploitation has always been their modus operandi. They saw writer / director / producer Chad Ferrin as a talent to watch, and Ferrin does wallow in the same sort of sleaze with which Troma has always excelled. This is a brutal, nasty, filthy exercise in unpleasantness. Crude as hell (with a hilarious way of depicting a "car crash"), it does feature standard gross-out gags, and a rich variety of unrepentant scum (including a perverted priest) that will earn a glorious demise. To that end, the best performance belongs to "Wolf Dangler" as a pusher / pimp called "Hell". The man is just pure evil. Garcia is not really a good actor, but his histrionics are quite amusing to watch. Give him at least some credit for *trying*. Of course, as we find out, James didn't exactly have the purest of intentions towards his child, so he's really no better than most of the characters in this walk through the decay of Western civilization.

The bottom line is that if you love Troma product, you'll find that this is very much of a piece with their typical output. But if you LOATHE their product, this is not the film that will change your mind.

"Unspeakable" seems to take itself quite seriously, but as other people out there have noted, it still comes off as pretty laughable anyway.

Six out of 10.
