Wonder Woman (2017)
7/10
Needed a tighter better script and less Steve Trevor.

Warning: Spoilers
Chris Pine had way more dialogue than Gal Gadot. Not gonna go into why I think that is or why just about every other actor had more lines than her. I just hope everything improves with the next movie. I think he got equal screen-time, if not not more than Gal as well. This is Wonder Woman right? Not Steve Trevor, wonder man.

I found Wonder Woman too vanilla. Yes we need a female hero with compassion and heart but she was just too flat of a character. I think there's not much to her. You know like Spiderman, Batman, Superman have childhood and teenage trauma. Even Black Widow appears to have of a traumatic background. But Wonder Woman pretty much had the perfect childhood and the perfect teenage years, and she decides she wants to be a hero for the world, because well, just because. See what I mean, there's nothing there. I don't know if this is the same in the comic books, but if so, then I wouldn't have minded if they changed things up a bit. The character's naivety didn't help. She doesn't know a thing about mankind. Why exactly does she want to be their hero? Oh yeah, just because. I like complex characters that struggle and develop becoming multi-layered. I find those type of characters interesting and fascinating. Diana/WW isn't any of this and frankly I find her kind of boring.

I wish Diana was WW right from the beginning already in mankind's world with flashbacks to her training with the Amazons. The fish out of water stuff got tired pretty quickly. Steve would keeps mentioning things that Diana had no clue about and she'd keep repeating a word in a questioning way.

So that little skinny guy was Ares huh? That was a disappointment.

The best scenes were that of the Amazons. Wish there was more scenes with them. I liked the actions scenes. I just thought the plot was boring and immature. They went through this whole movie so that Diana could find out that mankind had a dark side. We the audience already know this just as we knew Ares didn't cause people to be bad. In the end she realized love was the answer. Let's all sing kumbaya now. Hey it's fiction! Love is always the answer in some sort of way. But did we have to go through a whole somewhat boring movie for this?

The Greek Gods are written as noble and heroic(except for Ares)? Nobody ever read any classical literature I guess.

Overall, the movie is ok, with good action scenes. Gal looks good as Wonder Woman. I want to see more female action movies. I want to see more Wonder Woman, but with better scripts and mature writing. Loved the Amazons and loved Antiope. Wish there was more of her. Also loved the Etta character. I gave it a 7/10.
