The show in later year would sometimes get bogged down with excessive plots MacGuffins and various character twists. This episode has a bit of that problem because of Mrs. Tran, the Auction, the Tablet story getting crammed into it. There's a silly betrayal that exists to move the plot forward. But for that the episode is rather fun.
There's a lightness of tone here that helps keep the plot moving. The jokes about the Dwarven Gold, and the various other bids work. It also helps that Tom-Keven's Mother-turns in a lovely guest turn and lives up to the episode's title.
