Chrome (2020– )
10/10
Couldn't take my eyes off of it - better on the second viewing.

This show is so sick in how it uses impression of past ages to tell it's story. They say they were trying to give a feel of olden time science fiction with the fast action stye of today. It worked. The campy acting fits perfectly. It is like watching an old cliffhanger created in modern times. I heard a podcast with one of the actresses Natasha Coppola-Shalom who plays a little flying robot say that it took them years to get it right. The only negative is I wanted more when it was over and they are releasing each episodes every few months in instillment to be like the Saturday morning cliffhangers of the golden age of cinema. The nudity was surprising but so well handled that I identified with the blue pleasure robot that eventually becomes Chrome. I don't want to create any spoilers. This series will not be everybody's cup of tea as it is not the standard cookie cutter superhero movie audiences are used to. Nor is it like the clean special effect sophistication of a Transformers movie but they clearly didn't want it to be that way. Natasha Coppola-Shalom said they used mostly models and real world effects over CGI. If you are after action and fun and want to see a movie designed like a golden age science-fiction you will love this. A lot of information goes by super fast so you will probably want to watch it twice like I did.
