The film is a slow paced one that leaves a lingering effect - how the disappearance of the father of the family affects the children and his wife. It's a slow burn, which you can relate to your own household - how the man in the family (not all) generally doesn't deem it necessary to introduce his wife to outsiders or involve her in important matters, how the father and son shares a troubled relationship, how relatives and neighbors come out with all sorts of wild ideas and how superstition prevails in the minds of even the educated.
