I appreciated the director's bent in presenting dual screen alternatives to proceedings which, in itself, does allow an interesting dramatic flair to the outcome. Still, the outcome is...okay. Would I recommended this film based on the juxtaposition of scenes? Probably not because, in the end, the whole was not as satisfying as the intent. Generally, the acting was fair throughout "Detour", not outstanding or unique. The murder scenes were poorly done, unfortunately. In the end, "Detour" wasn't a bad film, despite the fact the namby-pamby acting of the teenage lead was aggravating after a while. Recommended if you're a Tarantino fan looking for films that are kind of similar to his.
