The time jumps are sometimes hard to follow but this is what Ludlum did in his novels. If you have not watched the Bourne Ultimatum film all the chatter about Blackbriar is going to mean nothing at all which makes the show hard to follow. Watch the film first. This is inspired by Ludlum but comes from a different place. The pacing of the season finale is very rushed as the writers scramble to tie off multiple subplots. Earlier episodes were much slower and the discontinuity in pacing is disappointing. Without spoilers being shared it is clear that the show was set up for a second season because despite the tie offs nothing actually ends.
