A film about a time and place long gone. This would be as foreign to youngsters as a film in a foreign language. Still the humanity and the fine performances of Wayne and Field and a great fight with Great character actor Ward Bond makes it approachable.
I knocked it down a few points because of a rather ludicrous subplot although The was the witch really a witch or did she think she was a witch was interesting if grossly overacted.
Recommended for history buffs and for Wayne( if you think he can't act???, come on man the guys fantastic at his craft) and Field's performances.
