I'm torn between giving 3 or 4 stars, but the bottom line for me is the film failed to be successful at much. It seemed well-acted and well-set on many levels, other than the dreary darkness. But as a thriller, the characters were maddeningly stupid; as ghosts, they were downright unbelievable. I should give it another star just for attempt to bring something new to the film audience. I do wish the story had made some attempt earlier to let us in that there was a secret. If there were any hints, we could not have concluded the couple were ghosts since real ghosts can't step on glass and then need to hobble even when their life is in danger. But let's not expect it to make sense to anyone over 30 and then we can say that this is a film that is aimed at vulnerable youth to squirm in their chair and act afraid. In that case, this is a date flick.
