Lucifer (I) (2019)
6/10
The complete actor show.

Prithviraj Sukumaran's Lucifer had huge expectations. First and important factor for that is Mohanlal is the main lead. Second, the rest of the cast and crew. The trailer was also excellent. I watched this movie two days after the release and all the reports stated that it is a masterpiece and best in recent times. Some compared it to Narasimham. After I watched the movie, I was wondering what was so extraordinary in this movie except Mohanlal's performance and the making of the movie. I am a neutral fan. Watching Mohanlal kicking some asses is good, but it is nothing extraordinary if the movie as a whole is not extraordinary. The movie is 180 minutes long and it doesn't bore often. This is a good movie showcasing the superstar power like Petta or The Great Father. Now don't get me wrong. This is not a negative review. But I have to say that from Prithviraj and the word off mouth after release, I expected a masterpiece like Drishyam or atleast Oppam. Performance wise, everyone has done a great job. Vivek Obroei did an excellent job and it is Manju Warrier's best performance after How Old Are You. The punch dialogues in some scenes were also good. Kudos to Sujith Vaasudev as it is one of the best cinematography in Malayalam films. Overall, Lucifer is a must watch for Mohanlal and the incredible making. There is nothing extraordinary except that. Lucifer will satisfy die hard Mohanlal fans but I expected more from Prithviraj.
