This happened to be on TV tonight and decided to watch the first half of the movie.
The story is about a young boy named Tim who wants a dog for Christmas. But his parents say no and he is somewhat angry about it. He later meets a strange man who Tim mentions that he wants a dog. The next day Tim finds that he is now a German Shepherd and has to try and become a human again.
Parts of this reminds me of the 1995 underrated drama Fletch starring Matthew Motive and Nancy Meyers where a man is killed and becomes a dog.
The premise to this film A Dogs Tale is just silly and stupid. The narrator sounds NOTHING like the boy Tim,he sounded like someone that would be in a kids tv show saying where is this, where is that he just came across as annoying.
For an animal lover like myself do yourselves a favour and skip it. It's pretty bad. I turned it off at the 1 hour mark as I knew how it was going to end.
