The Hungry (2017)
10/10
Dazzles and disorients
14 October 2018
So visually awe-striking, rich colours, rich wardrobe, rich props, the movie drips in splendour that is such a wonderful contrast and juxtaposition with the storyline.

Coming from someone who does not like watching violence, I really enjoyed this film as it kept me hooked and thrilled! I thought the scenes that depicted any form of graphic content were done rather tastefully and I thought was essentially an elevated "elegant" gore film! There is more of the sinister, psychological, 'messing with your brain' - which the editing of the film did brilliantly of truly disorienting you with the timeline until the end - which you anticipate but do not expect. The tension build up throughout the movie but also having the climax at the end was amazing.

I may be biased (I am), but for any of you that can stomach dark and lurid, this one's for you, definitely! Also hey supporting women directors and 'international' cinema for a US audience is always a plus for me. :)
