With this episode, we get some closure on what happened to Maddie's stolen money and the guy who took it. After running into an old acquaintance about to jump off a window of his office, Maddie finds out about the whereabouts of her accountant(the one who robbed her blind) who ran off to South America to open a casino with her and other clients money. David is against it, fearing that she'd just get more frustrated, but unable to reclaim a dime of her money. But Maddie won't listen and flies to Buenos Aires. There, her old accountant welcomes her and acts nice, but it's only to taunt her and play with her. Just like David predicted, he isn't going to pay her back. Just when Maddie is about to pack up and go home, Dave shows up and gives her moral support. They both decide to risk their luck and gamble in the accountants casino, eventually winning 20,000$. David suggests they leave and that this is the best Maddie can hope for, but her pride won't let her and so she's asking her former accountant to join a high stake game of poker. To join, she risks her house and car to get credit and asks Dave to play for her. It comes to a win or lose situation and Maddie has to decide...will she listen to David? Or will her pride get the best of her?

I gave this episode an 8 and really liked it for several reasons. The setting is outside of LA for most of the episode and I've always been a fan of episodes where our heroes are "on the road". We don't get to see Argentina, but the casino is an interesting place too. I like the continuity and that the writers didn't just "forget" about this crucial part of the pilot(they even make Maddie choose between the status quo before the pilot and David Addison and after). There are lots of jokes and emotions and once again, we can see just how much David already cares for Maddie(can she see it too?). The plot isn't too predictable and even though I'd seen this episode twice already, I wasn't sure anymore if it had a happy or a "sad" ending. I consider it one of season 2's best episodes.
