In looking at other reviews I see that Harold is pretty popular. For me he was annoying and Sergio Di Zio was overly passionate. Toward the end, it was understandable when he was running out of time, but he was the too intense early on. And I know you have to suspend credibility in these movies, but I just didn't see why Dave would trust him. In addition, I never warmed up to Dave. I didn't see any spark to him.
I liked the job Jessalyn Gilsig did, with one exception. The exception - I didn't think her voice was outstanding, as you would expect for someone aspiring to solo, not even in the special song. She was nice to listen to, but just that - nice. The song itself was also nice.
Since many other reviewers liked the acting, at least Di Zio, maybe you will too, in which case the story in this movie is good and has layers. We get the full story only after peeling them away.
