"A Chinese Torture Chamber Story 2" is a superior movie in most ways to its original. The first one was an uneasy mix of sex, violence, and humour, which didn't have the guts to look at its subjects closely enough to be sexy or horrifying, and wasn't funny, either.
The sequel is a heady mixture of the first two ingredients, with a fortunate absence of the latter. Whereas the first movie only really used sex and nudity as an afterthought, never treating it as sexy, this sequel takes its time with sexy asides that become erotic as a result. Further, the first showed numerous "tortures", though mostly these were played for laughs, I guess. There was nothing to make you cringe or want to look away, it was all pretty ridiculous. Well, "ACTCS2" does make you cringe, perhaps due to the lack of comedy this time around. There's a piping hot metal dildo, a boiling liquid tipped into ear canals, nipples and tongues being ripped out...
While still nothing close to the more extreme CAT III offerings like "Untold Story", "A Chinese Torture Chamber Story 2" actually does what its title implies. The story is still pretty hard to follow, but nobody watches movies like these for the story, right?
