Being a BATTLESTAR GALACTICA fan, you want this to work, and you cheer for it to work, and you are prepared to overlook some obvious mistakes. One thing's very obvious: The Cylons lose their appeal as menacing thugs when they walk about half machine upper bodies and obviously human lower bodies, they now look like rip-off material, come on, they were so on the right track, so reminiscent of the fascist Imperial Stormtroopers of that other space saga franchise. But when the camera lingers on them, and their speech patterns take forever to complete a sentence, they're just unintentionally goofy.
Cloned Bond girl! THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN's Britt Ekland appears. Wow, but the excitement for me was when her name appeared. Like, me, "ooh it's gonna be Britt Ekland!" but unfortunately, her appearance is a major letdown, she is dressed like an Eskimo, you can hardly see her face, okay, that's not true, but unfortunately she seems to have short hair, like some pixie cut. Pretty face, though. Oh well, there's still the Part 2.
Interesting load of characters, with the Landram vehicle, with that heavy laser gun mounted on its back, being a major asset to selling the snowy battle scenes, especially when the Cylon Raiders zoom in like demented bats from hell.
A hell of a lot of work and a lot of expenses, obviously.
