Nothing godlike about this little movie

Warning: Spoilers
"Glenn Owen Dodds" is an Australian English-language short film from 2010, so this one is already seven years old now. It got director Bailey and writer Dalton some solid awards attention and a lot of that may have to do with prolific blockbuster actor David Wenham playing the title character here. This is the story of a young man entering the room to talk to another man, namely Wenham's character and there is some suspense to whether Wenham's character may actually be God in human form with what he knows and what he does. But honestly, I was never convinced. And with that I am not talking about the question whether he is God or not, but about whether this is a good film or not. The 2-man conversation went on for way too long I must say (and that's quite something for a 17-minute movie) and rewarding moments like the romance part almost at the very end are just not frequent enough unfortunately. I cannot say I am surprised that Bailey and Dalton never managed to follow up on the awards success of this one here as I do not smell a great deal of talent. Thumbs down from me. Not recommended.
