The role played by "Slapsie" Maxie Rosenblum was obviously intended for Mike Mazurky. I don't know what Mazurky was doing to prevent him from playing the role but his 6'5" frame would have been more appropriate than that of the 5'11' Rosenblum who was mistaken for Herman in the story. Otherwise the episode is fine, and there is nothing wrong with Rosemblum's performance, it's just that he was not tall enough nor did he have the 'menacing' quality Mazurky was famous for. Mazurky did appear as thuggish Leo 'Knuckles' Kraus in another episode of the Munsters, "Knock Wood, Here Comes Charlie" where Fred Gwynne played a dual role.
