The Simpsons: A Star Is Torn (2005)
Season 16, Episode 18
8/10
A Fun, Music Filled Episode,

A Star is Torn is a great Simpsons episode with a well written plot and plenty of funny scenes. It's a great episode in terms of further establishing Homer and Lisa's relationship, I think the dynamics between them are some of the best on the show. Seeing Homer work as her manager in order to build a singing career for his daughter was a lot of fun.

However, it did feel a little underwhelming, as if they did not stretch the story out as much as they could have. The talent show could have been established more, maybe even getting guest appearances from real life judges. The highlight, for me, was the songs, there are many great ones, particularly Lisa's one about Springfield, there is also a beautiful rendition of Hush Little Baby by Fantasia Barrino. Sweet and fun at the same time, A Star is Torn is certainly not a highlight of the sixteenth season, but it's a very enjoyable episode.

Lisa enters a talent competition and recruits Homer to help her make it to the top, but he soon becomes caught up in her fame.
