The strong subplot involving Alfred's ex-military friend really lifts what is otherwise another mediocre filler episode. David O'Hara is fantastic as Reggie, and he and Sean Pertwee are great together. The confrontation between them was like a sucker punch and the twist really caught me by surprise.
The Penguin and Fish subplots continue to spin their wheels, though a shocking turn in the latter's was at least good for a gasp. I will say that although she has heretofore been my least favorite character, Barbara had a really nice turn here (albeit brief) as she struggles to cope with losing Jim and her problems alcohol.
