Peggy Takes on Hollywood
20 January 2016
Aside from Captain America or Iron Man, Peggy Carter has always been one of my favorite Marvel characters, so I was really glad to see that the show was renewed for a second season. Most of the characters are back but Peggy seems to have found a new home in Hollywood, at least for now. Being a huge film buff, I love the feel of 1940's Hollywood with quite a few references to films and actors of that time.

The opening scene was great at setting up everyone's position this season as Peggy is accepted in her role as a part of the SSR and both Sousa and Thompson in their new positions at chief in their respected cities. Of course, Thompson revolts back to his season 1 ways and forces Peggy to move to Hollywood in order to take on a new lead involving a frozen body and lake, which feels like a strange connection to Captain America's frozen body back in Cap 1.

It seems as though they are positioning Dottie to be Peggy's Malcom Merlyn. So as long as there is something sketchy going on, it's likely to be tied to her arch nemesis, Dottie. And to me, that's definitely a good thing, Bridget Regan was fantastic last season in her limited but significant role. Other than that, it was really nice to see Peggy's dynamic with Jarvis and Sousa continue to thrive. I don't know if they really need for her to have a love interest, but I'd be fine with either. Of course, both of them are taken as of now, and apparently this new Doctor guy is up to something crazy as well. So as for now, Peggy can just continue to kick some as* and I'll be happy.

+Dynamics are still there with characters
