Down Dog (2015 TV Movie)
4/10
Not picked up? I don't mind.

Warning: Spoilers
"Down Dog" is a half-hour television movie that was intended as a pilot episode for a whole series. Unfortunately, feedback and/or audience numbers weren't convincing enough it seems in order to get more of this. We have a man in his 30s who works as a yoga instructor. He is a womanizer and at one point, the relationship with his girlfriend becomes too serious, so he shies away from the responsibility and the two split up. There are some drama elements here, but it's mostly comedic, like the scene with the Buddha statue that loses its head. The director is Brad Silberling ("City of Angels", "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events") and the writer is Robin Schiff ("Romy and Michele's High School Reunion"). Lead actor is Josh Casaubon who I don't know, but the cast includes some more known members such as Oscar nominee Kris Kristofferson. All in all, a mediocre half hour with very few good moments. Don't think I'd keep watching if this got picked up. Thumbs down.
