Children of the Dark (despite its title that sounds like a horror film title), is a sad story about two little girls who have a rare disorder that makes them unable to go into the sunlight. They are treated like diseased freaks and vampires by their once good friends, forcing them to relocate. They eventually find a town where everybody is accepting and kind.
The harsh treatment from the neighbors is rather much, it was dramatized a lot. However there are cases like this; if it isn't this disorder it's autism or Down's Syndrome, or a mental illness like depression, maybe a physical illness like cancer or diabetes, and if not that than it's race, religion, gender, anything can be stigmatized and it's very unfortunate because a lot of good people are looked down on in real life as much as the girls in this movie are.
The acting and soundtrack was all great, as was the entire ending, how it showed that with caring and understanding everybody can fit in and be happy regardless of any medical condition or difference. It's really worth checking out, hard to find because it's not yet on DVD but all the same, a great movie!
