It used to be tea time chat shows that dominated the late afternoon/early evening slots on weekdays, but now game-shows seem to be in vogue and that explains why we end up with twaddle like Tipping Point.
While the concept is simple enough (many of them aren't) and Ben Shepherd is a good enough host what can't be escaped is the fact that the game isn't very exciting at all. You could go to any arcade and play Tipping Point. OK, the money on offer probably wouldn't be as high and you wouldn't be filmed (other than on CCTV) but at least you wouldn't have to be cut off every ten minutes for an ad break.
The less said about the so-called Celeb editions (why are these so compulsory!) the better.
