Review of Lucky Duck

Lucky Duck (2014 TV Movie)
10/10
Cute movie!
10 July 2014
Some people take movies way too seriously. This is a Disney Jr movie, not a Sundance film or a documentary. You're not supposed to walk away from it determined to save sea creatures from the dangers of plastic. It's meant to relate to little kids, who would be much more concerned with saving the lives of their favorite rubber ducky. I do believe it's important to learn big messages at a small age. My 3-year old loves sharks. I did not use this movie as a big teaching moment; I use shark week for that.

It's cute, has catchy music (my husband and I both love the songs - it's rock music and sounds like 'real' music), and most importantly my son loves it. Thank goodness I DVR'd it.

Another bonus, it's only about 45-50 minutes. My son doesn't watch much TV and gets disinterested quickly - he would much rather be outside playing. But this movie actually catches his attention and he watches pretty much the whole thing.

"I'm a lucky duck, and I'm on my way, to a best friend, I believe. I'm a lucky duck, and I know inside, there's only one of me!" We really like to sing this song.
