Why not a movie?
30 May 2014
Bold, beautiful, ambitious but why make it as a photorealistic cartoon?

The story is about two rival kingdoms and the struggle of a son to restore his father's misplaced dignity.

On one level, it had so much going for it. Mighty story, great backgrounds, good cast, intelligent plot loaded with new elements and intrigue (trust/revenge/truth to name a few of the morals it deals with). Therefore one expects greatness and on some level this has been achieved.

Indian cinema has proved that it can produce greatness in film although this initiative has fallen short on that by deciding to make it as photorealistic CGI. Still, it was enjoyable and stimulating just not quite the experience it would have been had it been made as a film. Or is it that I am just too disappointed to see Deepika Padukone as a cartoon character?
