as this series is great in all aspects. I only want to comment on the most shocking and controversially scenes, and in this episode it was the "raping" scene as some people call it. although in my opinion it was necessarily disturbing as it is intended to be. lets go back few season back and look at the relationship between jaime and cersei. cersei likes to play victim and sometimes resist jaime when he comes at her (remember the scene when she slapped him in season one then he grip her hand and held her tightly and said "I will kill the whole bloody lot of them until you and I are the only two people left in this world" cersei melted at this although jaime had just attempted to murder a 10 year old child!! jaime is used to take charge on their relationship and he always does and cersei loves it.

now coming back to the question, but why now? on their dead son body? because jaime is a very angry person who is very passionate about his sister (when he attempted to kill Bran in season one, he did it without hesitating after looking at cersei's face, and he said " the things i do for love". cersei is his only weakness and he wanted her for days now because she is the only person in the world who makes him feel better, and in this moment he was very angry and fed up about everything (he just came from a very long journey of him being humiliated and captured as prisoner, he lost his only valuable thing, the only thing he was good at, his hand, and his only true love doesn't want him anymore). so with all those very angry feelings he got blinded and exploded the only way he knew that made him feel better before (his love cersei). this was his very disturbing way to feel better.

we have to understand that people are different, not all of us are normal, and jaime and scersi are indeed not. they are the most narcissist people, that they actually love each other and they are very convinced about their love even though they are siblings, only because they love themselves the most so they see themselves in one another!!! the way they reflect their feelings is different than any normal person, so i think the writers did a great job portraying this aspect of their characters. isn't this why we love GoT !! for all the disturbing actions!!!

I feel that some people got to love jaime in season 3 because they sympathized with him, but they forgot who he actually is. this is why I loved this scene, because it reminded us of real jaime (who is still one of my favorite characters) and i really thank the writers for being true to the characters no matter how it pisses people off.
