Just watched this computer animated movie with my movie theatre-working friend. I remember thinking the original one was quite funny with much to recommend it. This one has some good moments of humor and is at the least as pleasingly visual as the first one though a bit underwhelming compared to the previous one. Obviously, the fact the first one made money was the reason this sequel was made but all they could think of was having these food creatures be supposedly monsters only when provoked by an-eventually revealed-evil scientist who happens to be the main character's idol and this main character then abandons his friends because of such idolizing? Not very original, still there is a nice enough lesson there for the kids and the visual jokes are amusing enough so on that note, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is worth a look.
