. . . while her crew sported parkas to ward off the frigid night-time chill as actress "Laura Elliott" a.k.a. Kasey Rogers' character Miriam breathed her last near the exit of The Tunnel of Love. Ironically, this scene was filmed from the P.O.V. of Miriam's fallen pop bottle eye glasses. Kasey relates during this DVD extra interview that she was virtually blind while wearing this prop, meaning the actress herself could see clearly only as her character expired (recalling 1 Corinthians, 13:12--"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then, face to face"). This circumstance makes Miriam's murder scene particularly diabolical, intentionally or not. Incedibly, doomed-to-die-young actor Robert Walker, who portrayed Miriam's "criss-cross" strangler Bruno, REQUIRED prescription glasses for adequate vision, but his character was written as a killer with 20-20 vision in the days before contacts. So, between takes of choking poor Miriam, the more warmly dressed Walker told Kasey their whole episode amounted to "the blind leading the blind."
