When this came out, I didn't bother to watch it because all "found footage" films feel the same to me and they never scare me. However, when the sequel came out, I decided to give it a shot and I was more than pleasantly surprised.
I really dug the story of seeing a documentary film crew follow a disillusioned preacher who, after answering a letter about a possible possession, sees his faith renewed as he stares directly into the face of evil. Not to mention that Patrick Fabian as the preacher proved to be an amazing actor who kept the story going and kept it engaging.
Granted, I didn't find this film scary at all but the story was very interesting, Fabian was very awesome to watch and the ending was killer! So even without the creep factor, I really dug this horror film!
