Fry becomes an emperor!
26 February 2012
Warning: Spoilers
As this episode opens Bender is watching a cookery programme on the television but quickly turns over and claims he was actually watching porn when the others walk in. Shortly afterwards he is told that if he doesn't start contributing to the workload the company will stop paying him so he decides to become the ship's chef. After a trip to Little Neptune to buy the ingredients he cooks his first meal. Unfortunately it is far too salty; this is doubly unfortunate for Fry as they are on their way to deliver a package to the emperor of Trisol, a hot desert planet. By the time he gets to the throne room he is parched and helps himself to the bottle of cool refreshing liquid next to the throne. This liquid is the emperor; all the inhabitants of Trisol are liquid! By local custom he who assassinates the emperor gets the job of being the new emperor; this sounds great until Leela points out that most emperors last less than a week and if he fails to say the coronation oath perfectly he will be killed. Amazingly he gets it right but then discovers the old emperor is not dead and wants to be cut out!

This was a fun episode with plenty of hilarious moments; I laughed out loud at the 'crack dispensing machine' and organ dealer in Little Neptune. This episode was the first to feature the Neptunian chef who likes to kick it up a notch: Elzar. The main story was fairly entertaining and it was amusing seeing the crew trying to make Fry cry to get the emperor out even if it was rather cruel.
