60's Horror (real & imagined)
2 May 2008
What was more horrible in the 60s? The threat of the atom bomb from Cuba, or the horror on the screen from Schlockmeisters like Roger Corman, who gave us such thrills as Little Shop of Horrors, Creature From the Sea, and The Terror? This film combines both in a trip down memory lane and a very funny and romantic film. It follows a group of Key West teens growing up and discovering passion amidst the constant threat of bombs and duck and cover drill in school.

John Goodman (The Big Lebowski, "Roseanne") brings the premiere of his latest schlock horror film to town with a room full of gadgets that provide a realistic experience. Sometimes, you are not sure whether it is the movie extras that are scaring you, or if the bombs have come flying. This is the thrill and excitement of the film.

Goodman is supported by the capable talents of Robert Picardo (Along with George Takei and Robert Duncan McNeill, he is one of only three "Star Trek" regulars to wear all three "Star Trek" uniform colors.) and Cathy Moriarty (Raging Bull, But I'm a Cheerleader), and a cameo by Naomi Watts.

Corny, but lots of laughs at a bygone era.
