Vincent Price, with the fabulous name of Frederick Loren, invites a disparate group of people to his spooky estate, offering each of them $10,000 if they can withstand one night of his (rather juvenile) demented tricks. Reconceived (poorly) in 1999 as a full-throttle horror show, this version was probably meant to be scary but today can be viewed as ghoulish camp, light on its feet and mindlessly enjoyable. William Castle production was originally released in "Emergo", a gimmick that set loose a skeleton above the theater audience.
