"Touch that switch & I'll atomise you." Good Doctor Who story.

Warning: Spoilers
Doctor Who: The Ark in Space: Part 2 starts as Vira (Wendy Williams) one of the hibernating humans reawakens, she is immediately suspicious of the Doctor (Tom Baker), Harry (Ian Marter) & Sarah Jane (Elisabeth Sladen) & proceeds to revive Commander Noah (Kenton Moore) who is also hostile towards the time travelling trio. Noah goes to check the power supply & is attacked by a slimy space slug thing which starts to take control of his mind...

This Doctor Who adventure was episode 6 from season 12, directed by Rodney Bennett I quite like this story so far but this isn't the best episode. The script by Robert Holmes pays a huge nod towards the story it's based upon by naming the Commander Noah but as a whole this episodes a little sluggish & didn't quite work for me. For a start the Doctor & co. take far too long to make the connection between the missing crew members & the huge giant creature that they found, I'm sorry but it's not a giant leap to conclude it might have had something to do the disappearances. Then there's the fact not that much really happens in this episode apart from Noah being controlled by the slug thing which actually leads up to a cool ending.

There's not really been been many effects so far, the slug thing has only been seen in quick glimpses & the big creature was dead when they found it, the other effects are OK expect when someone gets shot with a gun as it looks like he's been hit by a bright blue star.

The Ark in Space has a great premise which it isn't really fulfilling it's potential in my opinion, it's a decent watch so far but nothing special.
