Beauty doesn't last long
15 April 2006
After the Muratova's shocking film "Astenicheskiy sindrom",this seems a more sympathetic to ordinary people.

Even the most ordinary people have sense of beauty, and those who is longing for it, can dedicate to it all other things they have.

The naiveté of characters sometimes seems to be too exaggerated, repetitions of same words are unnatural. It's difficult to love people who are constantly talking about the subjects of their own passions, without listening to neighbors' words.

But I can forget all these shortcomings when the camera shows them with horses(or cats and dogs in one scene), as if they have the same innocent nature. These scenes remind me of that great episode with poor dogs in "Astenicheskiy sindrom", exactly as the positive reminds of the negative.

Here the scene with horses are accompanied by a peaceful movement from Beetoven's symphony, and the image and music represents a fragile moment of Beauty in people's life, which doesn't last long, but probably can unite their soul.
