Review of Love Monkey

Love Monkey (2006)
Heartbroken over Love Monkey
17 February 2006
It's week one since Love Monkey has been yanked and I am heartbroken. It was smart, witty, insightful- all of the things that spell death in today's TV climate.

What made it so good? It was a modern day hero story, David against Goliath (Or Tom against Goliath in this case) where integrity triumphs over greed and the stink of corruption is thwarted by one man who lives by his ideals. What's not to love? I love Tom because he's the best type of hero- not invincible, not incredible, just a regular guy who is very, very good at what he does who has uncompromising principles. You want to see him succeed. Because a victory for him is a victory we can all celebrate.

I also really like Wayne- he's a good kid. I think he's great as innocent talent, moving to the big time. He's so pure that you want to see Tom swoop in as the protector, to keep him from becoming rough and jaded.

By the way, lay off of Jason Priestly. The guy almost died recently and I think he looks damn good considering what he's been through. Sure, he's put on some weight, but that's just pushed him out of the teen hunk category and into the middle aged dad world. Which is what his character is.

'nuf said. Love Monkey- CBS' latest cancellation mistake.
