We watched this version of Medea in one of my theater classes and I love it. Medea has always been one of my favorite Greek Tragedies and this version has it done VERY well.
The one problem one might have when watching it is that the makeup on Medea is still very Stage - despite the fact that the camera is right in her face oftentimes. one comment made in class is that she looked slightly like a Klingon, but beyond that. ^_^ The costumes in the movie are great, and the acting is AMAZING. The woman who plays the nurse was the original Medea in America, and she worked with the woman who plays Medea in this version.
I loved it. A must see for any lover of Greek Theater.
