Stranded

Perhaps this will play better on TV but for now, on the big screen this film sort of misses.

You ever watch a movie thats really good or should be, but just misses the mark by inches? Its so close that it straddles the line between watchable and something you don't need to bother with?

The remake of the Jimmy Stewart film walks that line and never quite gets off it. Its neither fish nor fowl, neither bad nor good. Its indecision keeps you distant. Had it been a fair movie or a good movie it would have been watchable instead it just sort of is there, never connecting with anyone outside of itself.

A final decision will have to wait to be made upon a second viewing but for now I simply feel put off by it. Wondering who these people are and why should I care.

I should note that I really don't like the original version of this movie. That film is a not very good stock Hollywood star epic thats wildly over rated by most people. This is for me, an improvement.
